Treatment Room

A hemophilia/bleeding disorder treatment room will be set up for the duration of the Congress in Room x – y) in close proximity to the exhibition hall, plenary, and all session rooms. Specialized physicians and nurses are available to assess emergency and semi-urgent situations related to your bleeding disorder and assist with infusions. Physiotherapists will be available in the same location at designated times, from May 8 to 11, to perform appropriate management and give advice to patients who are having an acute or sub-acute bleeding episode. Volunteers will assist delegates to get to the treatment room from a treatment room desk in the foyer outside the exhibition hall. A limited number of scooters, wheelchairs, crutches, and walkers can be made available upon request.

Out of hours emergencies and medical problems RELATED to a bleeding disorder

A hemophilia treatment center for children and adults is located at The McGill University Health Centre-Montreal Children’s Hospital, 1001 Decarie Boulevard. It has an out of hours emergency hemophilia line where you can ask to page the nurse on call for complex care (at the Children’s) by calling: 514 412- 4400 extension 2333. 

 

Emergencies and medical problems NOT related to a bleeding disorder

If your medical problem is not related to your bleeding disorder, it is suggested that you either contact a doctor through the hotel/accommodation or visit the emergency department of one of the local hospitals. The McGill University Health Centre-Glen Site is 10 minutes away from the Convention Center at 1001 Decarie Boulevard, Tel: 514-934-1934.

  • Use a house phone and dial 555 or extension 3141 (a house phone is available in each corridor on the 5th floor. House phones are also located in rooms 517-710 and 210).
  • Go to an employee of the Security Department or a member of personnel of the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
  • From a cellular phone, dial 514-871-3141 to reach the Security Operations Center.
  • Defibrillators are available at the Security Operations Center (SOC) and all security agents are certified to operate this equipment.
